Jamaican country kitchen

Time stands still during long, afternoon lunches served outdoors, under the trees.

A stay at Pantrepant is defined by Jamaica’s rich culinary heritage, the seasonal bounty of our organic kitchen garden and our longtime chef whose home-style cooking is informed by country traditions and modern tastes.

Your day may start with a discreet knock from a staff cook, who will prepare our signature breakfast of steamed calalloo and poached, farm-fresh eggs in the cottage kitchen and serve you on the veranda. Tropical fruit, cereal, bacon and toast is also available.

By early afternoon, you will be ready for lunch, the largest meal of the day, which includes local specialties like jerk chicken, curried lamb, ackee with salt fish (Jamaica’s national dish), roasted breadfruit and rice and peas. This languorous feast is served outdoors under the Guango tree, amid romantic ruins of the old sugar cane mill, or in your cottage.

As daylight wanes and you wind down from your day outdoors, our staff serves you a light dinner of soup and salad, or other meals on request, in the comfort of your cottage.
